A look at MP Fitness & Sport Performance, our philosophy, and the team behind the coaching

MP Fitness & Sport Performance was founded on the belief that effective training begins with understanding how the body moves. What started as the vision of Michela Peterlin has grown into a team‑led coaching practice built on experience, education, and thoughtful application of human movement science.

The foundation of the studio is informed by Michela’s BSc in Sports Science, with a focus on human movement, posture, and strength and conditioning. Combined with a competitive sporting background and over two decades of coaching experience, this education shaped a clear coaching philosophy: training should be purposeful, adaptable, and grounded in how individuals move — not generic programs or short‑term fixes.

Since establishing MP Fitness & Sport Performance in the Essendon area over a decade ago, this philosophy has guided every stage of the business’s growth. While the approach was shaped by its founder, it is now carried forward by a coaching team aligned in both standards and thinking. Each coach applies the same principles of movement quality, structured strength development, and long‑term progression, while bringing their own experience and perspective to the coaching process.

Today, MP Fitness & Sport Performance operates as a collaborative coaching environment. Clients don’t just train with a single person — they benefit from a shared framework, consistent methodology, and a team committed to helping people build strength, move better, and develop physical capability that supports life both inside and outside the gym.
